Lunch at Assam House, Ipoh

Assam House has a variety from its menus to choose from. The food is very reasonably-priced, considering the comfortable, nice, clean and air-conditioned surroundings. The staff are efficient, polite and friendly.

One of the most popular dishes is asam-pedas. The boss cum founder of the restaurant is a Nyonya from Melaka, who's married to a gentleman from Ipoh. If I'm not mistaken, the boss must be past middle age now. Anyway, that's what I heard and read (therefore, this note is only a secondary source). ;)

The restaurant that I usually go to is in Greentown.

Below are one of the latest random lunch sets:

Fish fillet asam curry... A great pacifier to spicy food craves (I can't wait to go for another one as soon as possible).

Sambal belacan stir-fried sayur paku...

Seaweed soup with egg and mixed vegetables...

The 3 dishes were randomly selected from the list of menu for lunch set. Together with rice and drinks too, everything came up to only around RM 3+.++ for two.
