Contrary to what appears to be so innocent, the effects of prematurity may be far more terrifying than what most of us imagine. It is the #1 cause of death among children below 5 years. Among those who are fortunate enough to survive, a number of them esp those who're born very preterm, are at risk for various long-term effects either in relation to development or physical health.
