Parkroyal in Penang

An evening scene of the beach (Straits of Malacca) by the coffee house at Parkroyal...

Replica of a kampung house...

On a stroll during sunset...

The Penang Parkroyal is a relaxing place to be, away from the city and heavy traffic. A cab ride from the airport in Bayan Lepas to Parkroyal takes about an hour. Alternatively, one may board the RapidPenang bus to Batu Feringgi.

Briefly, the hotel and beach are clean, beautiful and good. The facilities and services are up-to-mark and I'm happy with the food served at the coffee house.

The Penang Parkroyal is recommended for anyone who look forward to a serene vacation. There are a few beach activities available here - motorboating, banana boat rides, horse-riding, etc. However, for folks who enjoy shopping, trying out local Penang delicacies at hawkers' stalls and city-touring, Batu Feringgi is a little far from the city center.

Anyway, there is a daily night market near the hotel, selling various products at pretty low prices. Among the stuff on sale nightly are clothes, sandals, bags, local snacks, DVDs, and so on. There are also a few food outlets selling "ikan bakar" (grilled fish) nearby, budget-accomodations that come in the form of little houses, and beach bars along the stretch of Batu Feringgi.
